Services with real impact

Whatever stage your business is at, I offer flexible, practical HR support built around what you actually need, not a one size fits all package. Here's how I can help.

HR Support for Startups & Growing Businesses

Two people, a man and a woman, are sitting at a desk in a modern office, engaged in a conversation. There is a laptop, notebooks, and a mug on the desk, with a brick wall and shelves in the background. This represents HR support for growing businesse

You've made your first hire. Maybe your fifth, or your fifteenth. Somewhere along the way the people side of things has got more complicated than you've got time for, contracts that need sorting, a difficult conversation you're putting off, a process you're not sure you're doing right.

That's the point most people find me. I work with startups and growing businesses across Hampshire and beyond who don't have HR in house yet, giving you the foundations and structure to manage your people properly, without the cost of bringing someone on full time. That's putting the right foundations in place as you grow, working through people issues confidently and fairly, creating consistency in how things are handled, and catching small problems before they turn into big ones.

A person writes a checklist in a notebook using a black pen, with checkboxes for tasks labeled 'Place,' 'Design,' 'Review,' and 'Done.' compliance and processes in place, creating policies and people processes to life, training for line managers

Bringing Policies & People Processes to Life

Having the right paperwork is one thing, actually using it day to day is another. I help turn policies, handbooks and processes into something your managers can genuinely work with, translating the formal stuff into plain English guidance that makes sense in the real world, not just something that sits in a drawer.

That includes line manager training, making sure the people running your teams actually know how to use what's in place, whether that's handling a disciplinary properly, having a difficult conversation, or knowing when and how to follow a process rather than winging it. Good documents only work if the people using them are confident doing so.

Ad Hoc & Ongoing Support

Not every business needs, or wants, a retainer. A lot of the people I work with just want someone in their corner they can call as and when things come up, talking through a tricky situation, drafting a letter, or just being that person you can call and say "can you believe what's just happened." Others prefer more ongoing support as their team grows. Either way, it's flexible and built around you.

Our Process

  • 1. Discovery Call

We start with a conversation about where your business is at and what you need. No sales pitch, just a proper catch up so I understand your business and what's actually going on.

  • 2. Ad Hoc Project

Most relationships start here, a specific piece of work, translating policies and processes into something your team can actually use, working through a particular issue, or getting line managers confident with what's already in place. Priced clearly upfront, so you know exactly what you're getting.

  • 3. Build Trust

This is where you get to see how I work in practice, how I handle things, how I communicate, whether I'm the right fit for your business long term. No pressure to commit to anything more than what you need right now.

  • 4. Ongoing Retainer Support

When you're ready for more consistent support, we move to an ongoing arrangement, whether that's a set retainer or flexible support as and when, built around how your business actually runs.
